OUR MISSION

PHASE ONE is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting ground-breaking Phase I and Phase II clinical cancer research, innovative education and treatment programs, and funding forward-thinking leaders in the scientific and medical community.

Every cancer treatment starts with a Phase I clinical trial.

More trials lead to:
MORE HOPE at diagnosis.
MORE OPTIONS for treatment.
MORE LIFE.

WHAT IS A PHASE I CLINICAL TRIAL?

A phase I clinical trial tests the safety, side effects, best dose, and timing of a new treatment. It is the first step in testing a new treatment in humans and phase I clinical trials usually include only a small number of patients. Phase I trials are also required when testing a new combination of previously approved drugs.
