RODNEY D. FRANKS is CEO of RDF Consulting, a leading consulting firm that focuses on capacity building, strategic planning, operational assessments as well as strategic partnerships in a variety of industries. Mr. Franks has had the privilege of collaborating with a variety of organizations in an effort to vastly improve their operational and strategic performance in a short time period while drastically increasing their revenue. Mr. Franks has over 20 years of successful leadership experience at not-for-profit and for-profit organizations, and has been responsible for raising more than $135 million in capital campaigns and giving programs at universities, art institutions, two major health care organizations and a biomedical research institute. Also, from startup to mid-size companies, he has helped these companies strategically align their missions and visions, which in turn allowed for both growth and focus. Most recently, Mr. Franks was Vice President for Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (LA BioMed), one of the country’s leading nonprofit independent biomedical research institutes, located on the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center campus in Torrance, California. At LA BioMed, Mr. Franks was responsible for all external relationships, and the development and implementation of a strategic plan for fundraising in support of the Institute. In addition, he led the effort for a major capital campaign – in excess of $50 million - for the total transformation of the research campus. He joined the PHASE ONE Board in 2016.
