DANIEL WEINSTOCK
DANIEL WEINSTOCK is a founder, entrepreneur and restaurateur. The Los Angeles native has 25+ years experience in the restaurant industry. He earned the title of Sous Chef at Spago Beverly Hills, working under world-class chefs Wolfgang Puck and Lee Hefter. For 6 years, Spago was a place called home for Daniel. Recognizing his entrepreneurial aspirations Daniel went on to earn an MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is the co-founder and owner of Maple Block Meat Co., a renowned craft barbecue restaurant with two locations – Culver City (2015) and DTLA at Grand Central Market (2023). Daniel is also a Managing Partner of Lunetta (Santa Monica).
PHASE ONE’s mission speaks deeply to Daniel as cancer has made an indelible mark on his life. In the early 1990’s his mom was diagnosed with breast cancer; she came out on top entering remission. Then in 2006 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, a 4-year battle she could not overcome. In 2016 Daniel lost his dad after a one-year battle with glioblastoma. He helped both his mom and dad navigate Phase I clinical trials and while they were unsuccessful, he cares deeply about funding cancer research, furthering the reach of clinical trials and raising awareness.
Daniel Weinstock lives with his wife and two daughters in Los Angeles. After graduating Harvard-Westlake High School he received his B.A. from Bates College, and M.B.A. from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
